Author Rose Nigro Takes "A Duck's Tail"
Down the Road Long Island, NY - Reeves Bay ArtWorks announces that Rose Nigro, author of the new children's book, A Duck's Tail, will visit two Eastern Long Island venues in the coming months. On Thursday, September 10, 4 PM, she will appear at The Big Duck in Flanders, and on Saturday, October 3, 2 PM, she will appear at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge.
"Grandparent and Child Story Time at The Big Duck" was organized by the Riverhead Free Library in anticipation of Grandparents Day the following Sunday. Rose Nigro will read from her book, which is subtitled "The story of a Big Duck and the Small Town who loves her." Parents, neighbors, aunts and uncles-instead of or in addition to grandparents-are welcome. There is some seating, although adults might want to bring a blanket or lawn chair. The rain date is September 17.
"Story Time at The Big Duck" is an offsite Riverhead Free Library program, which requires registration. Call the library at 631-727-3228 or visit www.riverheadlibrary.org. The Big Duck is located at 1012 Flanders Road (Route 24), which is east of Route 105 in Flanders.
Another program suitable for school-age children as well as their parents and grandparents who grew up loving The Big Duck will be held in the Nature Center at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge. The author, Rose Nigro, will read from her book and be available to sign books, which will be available for purchase. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Quogue Wildlife Refuge, a 305-acre expanse of protected land.
The "Meet the Author" program at the Quogue Wildlife Refuge also requires registration. Call 631-653-4771, e-mail: email@example.com or visit the non-profit organization's Facebook page. The refuge is located at 3 Old Country Road, in Quogue.
